5 Questions with Alisal Guest Ranch

Alisal believes all members of the team should have a firm understanding of the ideals and goals upon which it was founded. Here’s an inside look at the motivational words that shape each employee and customer experience:

Our Purpose: To provide our guests with a one-of-a-kind experience that embodies old west charm and genuine hospitality, where traditions are preserved and lasting memories created.

Our Mission: To continue defining the American Guest Ranch experience for the 21st century.

Our Core Values: These are the values that guide us as we create lifelong memories for our guests and make the Alisal such a special place for the employees who choose to ride on these happy Trails.

T   Teamwork

We achieve our mission by working together as a team.

R   Respect

A   Accountability

We take responsibility for our own actions and attitudes and ensure they align with the mission of the Alisal.

I     Integrity

We strive to do the right thing in every situation.

L    Loyalty

We are devoted to the Alisal – its mission, its guests, and our coworkers.

S    Service

We endeavor to create the best possible experience for our guests.

We also asked Alisal how their hotel interacts with the local community and what the biggest challenges are that the hotel faces, and here’s what they had to say:

Alisal is privately owned by the Palmer and Joan Jackson family. Through their yearly contributions to community and nonprofit organizations, they are one of the largest philanthropic Foundations in the Santa Barbara County.

Because the Alisal is rich in tradition and has been welcoming the same guests for multi-generations, our biggest challenge is to keep the traditions alive and fresh so that the next generation holds those traditions of family holidays and vacations going. With so much choice in travel, Alisal must keep uniqueness and value top of mind for those who return each year.
