5 Questions with Dream Downtown

What do you offer to your guests that sets you apart from your competitors?

There are two amazing restaurants on the Dream Downtown property: Marble Lane Steakhouse with Executive Chef Manuel Trevino of Top Chef, and The Japanese  restaurant Cherry, our newest addition by restaurateur Jonathan Morr. Our Nightclub, PH-D, offers amazing city views and daytime parties every Saturday from 5-10pm. The best thing would have to be The Beach, our outdoor pool and cabana area. The hotel was designed by Handle Architects, who also designed the World Trade Center Memorial.

What amenities does your property have that make you unique?

The Beach is a rare thing to have in NYC. Not many hotels can say they have an outdoor pool with private cabanas on a real sand beach. Our room service menu is curated by former Top Chef Contestant, Chef Manuel Trevino. We have an on-property boutique, Safira, that’s Curated by famed stylist Amanda Gutierrez. Each room has Samsung LED flat screen TVs with internet protocol solution and media hub, integrated room automation system, Tivoli alarm clock radios with iPod connection, and wireless keyboard for true internet browsing on each TV.

Do you have a prized restaurant, bar, spa or nightclub that keeps guests coming back?

We are home to the ultra-exclusive venue, Electric Room. A-lister’s like Madonna, Mick Jagger, Cameron Diaz, and Leonardo DiCaprio have been here. It’s a very intimate setting, and the only place that you can bump into Justin Timberlake one second and the next you are looking at Courtney Love strum her guitar.

How do you cater to not just guests but keep your property hot and relevant on the local scene?

We are constantly bringing in different and creative partnerships. We think collaborating and offering our spaces as venues can really make the difference.  We like to stay relevant in the tech market and update our rooms accordingly.

Which room in the hotel is considered the best, and why?

That’s a tough one…we have a presidential suite that can expand up to six bedrooms that also includes a 600sq ft terrace with a swedish style hot tub. It definatelly has that wow factor, but we certainly love our other suites just as much.
