All The More Lavish For 2013: The Trump International Beach Resort

With stunning design upgrades throughout, additional on-site activities, and the award winning service Trump properties are known for, The Trump International Beach Resort in Sunny Isles Beach Florida has even more to offer guests in 2013.

What do you see as your property’s greatest success in 2012?

The year of 2012 brought many exciting changes to our Forbes Four-Star Resort. The greatest successes at our lavish, oceanfront oasis were the design upgrades to the guest rooms, Neomi’s grill restaurant, lobby and pool area, as well as the opening of our notable new addition—Bella Beach, a chic Mediterranean-inspired restaurant and lounge located directly on our private beach.

The design upgrades included the following:

Lobby: The designer for the lobby—Michael Wolk Design Associates—used the existing floor—a multi-colored earth toned marble—as the palette for the overall design aesthetic. One of the main goals in the lobby design renovation was to update the overall image of the Resort – moving from traditional to contemporary – and increase the efficiency of that specific function area. Enhancements included all new furniture, wood paneling to create a division between the lobby and restaurant area; upgrades to the water feature; and added seating and a reconfigured concierge desk to afford our guests more space to lounge and engage in conversational activity; among other additions.

Neomi’s Grill: Also designed by Michael Wolk, the design enhancements to Neomi’s Grill feature new white oak wood furniture, as well as moonlight and indigo-colored upholstery and fabrics.

Pool: The rockfall, or waterfall arc, of our expansive grotto-style pool complex was remodeled, and new pool chairs and lounges in a white hue were added to round-out the Miami-chic atmosphere of the pool deck.

Guest Rooms: Inspired by the beach and establishing continuity with the Resort’s Atlantic backdrop, the new guest room color palette features turquoise blue and sea green fabrics on the bedding, chairs, and couches that create a brighter, contemporary feel with Miami flair. Adding extra comfort and luxury to the overall guest experience, each room features all new bedding, with sumptuous pillows and comforters, softer sheets, and plush new terry Standard Textile in the bathrooms. Lastly, the standard bedside lamps have been replaced by modern stainless steel light fixtures.

What do you see as some of the biggest opportunities in the coming year ahead?

We enter 2013 with the launch of our resort-wide activity program, available to every guest—toddlers, children, teens, parents and grandparents alike. The activity schedule—which will change monthly and offers both complimentary and fee-based options—includes unique activities such as “Aqua Fit” morning water workouts, beach yoga, Beach Bocce Ball, Croquet, various arts and crafts, paddleboard racing and other water sports activities, dancing on the pool deck, tropical wildlife encounters, new activities at Planet Kids—the Resort’s exclusive, interactive children’s program—as well as tennis clinics and private lessons by renowned tennis pros, to name a few.

What changing market aspects will have the greatest impact on the way you conduct business in 2013?

The uncertainty surrounding the upcoming prospect of the financial cliff, in addition to anomalies such as Hurricane Sandy that affected our primary Northeast target markets, has resulted in fewer long-term bookings for the first quarter of 2013. In response to these changes, we are altering our pace for quarter one by creating more alluring and value-added experiences and travel packages that cater to short-term bookings. The launch of the activity program is one example of such offering.

Travelers will also have the opportunity to book value and experience-driven vacation packages, such as “Stay A While” – a five-day, $2,000 travel package that incorporates daily breakfast, spa treatments at the award-winning Aquanox Spa, three half-day water sport rentals, an innovative “Starry-Night” turndown for children—complete with bed tents, a milk and cookie amenity, and star projector that transforms your guestroom into a cosmic galaxy—and more.

Further extending unique experiences to our guests, the Resort recently partnered with South Florida’s premier all-inclusive club, Club RED at the BB&T Center. Throughout 2013 our guests will have the opportunity to win complimentary tickets to some of the most popular concerts, entertainment and sporting events.

What is it about your property that sets you apart from the rest?

While we are an independently-owned property, Trump International Beach Resort features all the luxuries synonymous with the Trump name, in addition to being a member of Preferred Hotels and Resorts, one of the world’s leading hospitality organizations renowned for its ultimate collection of outstanding properties. However, what truly sets us apart is our people, our vision and our mission to deliver sincere, unique and memorable experiences to each guest, during every interaction, all the time.  From personalized welcome amenities for our VIP guests to our one-of-a-kind interactive and educational children’s program to the new resort-wide activity program that inspires and engages all ages, our Resort raises the bar on providing exceptional experiences within a luxurious, oceanfront setting.

What are the most important questions a client should ask themselves before selecting a property in your market?

Is there a Resort where I can enjoy a luxurious vacation without ever leaving the property, but that is within close proximity to other area experiences such as night life and fabulous shopping?
