After a short hiatus, the Eden Rock St. Barth Hotel have brought back their widely acclaimed Eden Rock Gallery “The Best Of…” art exhibits. Every few months, the hotel’s gallery exhibits a carefully curated selection of works from a group of emerging artists.
Our favorite from the exhibition is the work of Jason Bereswill. In 2006, the Bereswill began painting and photographing the scenery of the Baie de St Jean. In the French West Indies, where the coral reef and white sand rival the beauty of even great art, it is a challenge to capture the essence of the place where Rémy de Haenen established the Eden Rock in the 1950s. However, Bereswill’s works completely capture St. Barths – a mere glimpse had us dreaming of an idyllic day on the hotel’s beach. Meanwhile, his photographs got us thinking about the glamorous history of the hotel, a place where the Rockefellers and Rothschilds vacationed, and where Greta Garbo worked on her tan. Bereswill’s works capture it – that magical feeling about the place. Also on display at the Eden Rock Gallery are works by Nicole Etienne, Graham Day Guerra, Caitlin Hurd, Christian Johnson and Jane Matthews.
We highly recommend taking in the works on display now during “The Best Of…” at the Eden Rock Gallery – just one more reason to pack your swimsuit and plan your dream trip to the Eden Rock St. Barth Hotel.
