Hilton Opens First of Two New Luxury Dubai Hotels

The Hilton is the place to vacation right now, with room rates skyrocketing along with the number of luxury hotels in Dubai. The Conrad Dubai on the coveted Sheikh Zayed Road has just opened, and by the end of December the Waldorf Astoria Dubai Palm Jumeirah will join it there. With the Dubai luxury hotel industry booming, John Vanderslice, head of Hilton Worldwide’s global luxury and lifestyle brands tells The National, “There could potentially be two Conrads and two Waldorf Astorias in Dubai. The growth of the hotel sector here has been really terrific.”

Market research supports the claim of terrific growth, with average daily room rates in Dubai rising 8.5% in September. Following this trend, Hilton Worldwide also opened a new hotel in Ras Al Khaimah. High net-worth individuals are flocking to the area, either on flights, business trips or to personal residences, and the luxury market has significantly expanded to meet the growing demand. Although there are more hotels opening, room rates could continue to rise simply because of the growth of wealth in the area.
