For those who love a travel book that contains more than just cold hard facts about sights seen and money paid with a few anecdotes thrown in, the latest literary offering from Louis Vuitton, the world’s most valuable fashion brand, will fit the bill nicely; World Tour is about a round-the-world journey in 21 stops and features 1,000 vintage hotel labels carefully selected by Gaston-Louis Vuitton, grandson of the company’s founder.
Although more known for producing fashionable accessories, Louis Vuitton worked with author Francisca Matteoli, an experienced and famed traveller, to produce a detailed, meticulous yet interesting tome in which the 1,000 hotel labels chosen from Vuitton’s collection of over 3,000 are accompanied with interpretations, stories, and memoirs from various distinguished world wanderers. For those who love the back-stories behind the places travel writers have visited, this is a wonderful addition to their private libraries.
The book, which will be available later in September, will be in a limited edition boxed set and included will be a world map, 11 exclusive hotel labels in sticker format, and a notebook. It will only be sold in Louis Vuitton stores, and for $100, a client can choose an English, French, or Japanese version.
