Mandarin Oriental, Paris Receives ‘Palace’ Title

Mandarin Oriental, Paris has a new title. The Parisian hotel has been given palace status, allowing it to join the rare company of just eight other hotels in the city.

Atout France, the French Agency for Tourism Development, passed out the new title to the luxury hotel. The agency pointed out how the Mandarin Oriental Paris was worthy of palace status due to its contemporary 1930s palace like character.

The “Palace” awarded is only given out to five-star hotels that maintain French standards of excellence.

To celebrate its new title, Mandarin Oriental, Paris is serving up an exclusive cocktail appropriately named, “Palace.” The cocktail is composed of golden vodka, pink champagne, lime and rose petal jam. Frequenters of the hotel’s Bar 8 can taste the cocktail for the price of €26.

The French minister of tourism established the award back in 2010.
