New Luxury Casino Resorts Break Ground on the Las Vegas Strip

The Las Vegas Strip will add more luxury to its atmosphere by Labor Day weekend. The SLS Las Vegas, a 1,600-room luxury casino resort, will open near the northern end of the strip by the last summer holiday.

The Las Vegas SLS property will be the fourth in the United States. There are already SLS hotels in New York, South Beach and Los Angeles. The opening of the SLS Las Vegas marks the most notable hotel opening in town since the Nobu Hotel last year, and the luxury casino resort will include a restaurant with renowned chef José Andrés at the helm along with other nightlife, dining and entertainment options. The SLS Las Vegas will take over where the former Sahara once stood. The area in Downtown has become livelier with the addition of more attractions and restaurants.

SLS Las Vegas isn’t the only one trying to change the area. Genting Group’s $4 billion-plus Resorts World is already under construction nearby, and the luxury resort is supposed to rival the MGM Grand.
