Last week, 66 members of the French International Cuisine Association gathered at the Stay Restaurant in the Shangri-La Hotel, Beijing.
A spectacular “Palace of Versailles”-themed dinner was held, where a couple dressed in aristocratic 17th Century costumes entertained guests amid the restaurant’s ornate decor. Blue crystal lamps, a quintessential display of typical French romance, lit up the night, while attendants dressed in elegant French Palace costumes served guests. Classical music played while French chefs Maxime and Florian served carefully prepared classic dishes. The night wrapped up at the Stay restaurant as guests were whisked back to the Bourbons Saatchi.
The Shangri-La Hotel spared no expense in setting the mood; a pair of crystalline ice sculptures of swans spreading their wings, flanked a gigantic tower made of 2806 puff balls. Colorful flames danced at the top of the puff tower, perfectly crowning the evening’s events.
