Fans of Italian fashion design can sleep easy knowing that they will soon be able to rest their heads at another luxury resort bearing the iconic Versace name. The Italian fashion house Gianni Versace S.p.a has signed an agreement with SJM Holdings—Asia’s largest casino company—to build their newest casino resort.

The 5-star Palazzo Versace Hotel is to be built on SJM’s resort on the Cotai strip in Macau, China. The former Portuguese colony, which is a one-hour ferry ride from Hong Kong, has a look and feel not unlike that of the Las Vegas strip and is the only area of China where gambling is legal.

Upon its expected completion in 2015, the 2,000-room resort will come equipped with 700 gambling tables and represents SJM Holdings’ one and only casino on the Cotai strip—the company currently runs 20 of Macau’s 35 casinos.

As the world’s largest gambling hub, Macau’s new attractions, added hotel rooms and an improved rail connection are drawing more mainland Chinese visitors to the coastal area.

The resort will be the third project bearing the Versace name but is the first one to be opened on the Asian continent. Featuring luxurious spas, penthouses, and landscaped gardens with promenades and fountains evident at the other locations, the Palazzo Versace Hotel will be sure not to disappoint.
