In September 2012, Starwood’s W Hotel chain opened a uniquely-designed luxury hotel in Singapore. The horseshoe-shaped W Singapore Sentosa Cove hotel aims to capture the natural resort-like ambiance of Sentosa Island. The 240-room hotel, which sits on the exclusive island in the South China Sea, boasts the standard luxury amenities, in addition to a few surprising ones, including its own marina. Which is good news for yacht enthusiasts, who can pull right up to this luxury hotel in their boats.
The interior of the W Singapore Sentosa Cove was designed by the New York-based design firm The Rockwell Group, who have developed a number of W properties for Starwood in the past. Design elements include an “urban jungle” approach to the lobby, with a waterfall and orchid motif throughout. Home decor designer Herman Miller and local design collective Studio Juju were tapped to create furniture in line with the natural design aesthetic.
The W Singapore Sentosa Cove is located in a residential, expat-friendly neighborhood, just a 40-minute taxi ride from Changi International Airport and minutes from the world-famous shopping and dining on Orchard Road.
