Waldorf Astoria To Open in Jakarta in 2018

Hilton Worldwide has announced a deal to open a Waldorf Astoria Hotel and Resort in Jakarta. The hotel will be the second Waldorf Astoria brand in Indonesia.

Local property developer, Putragaya Wahana and the hotel giant signed an agreement, solidifying the hotel’s plans to move into Jakarta. The hotel is on par to open in 2018.

Senior Vice President at Hilton Worldwide, Andrew Clough, stated the luxury hotel opening would create awareness of the brand in Southeast Asia. He also believes the opening will help pave the way for other projects in the area.

The 74-storey building is set to be the tallest hotel in Jakarta. It will feature 181 rooms and suites along with meeting rooms and a 2,000-square meter ballroom. The target clientele will be business travelers.
